About the instructors;
Chief
Instructor
Jon McLeod Mr. McLeod began his martial arts training at the age of 13 in 1981 in the art of Shotokan
Karate
with Sensei Don Lee in Fountain Valley, California. After obtaining
a brown belt in Shotokan, Mr. McLeod moved to Arkansas where he studied Hung Gar Kung Fu for five years under
Sifu Alex Keck and TaeKwonDo under Master
Jim Pence, both at the Sprindgale Youth Center. After obtaining a 1st Dan Black Belt in TaeKwonDo, he then went on to train at Comprehensive
Fighting Arts in Rogers, Arkansas where he was first introduced to Kali, Jeet Kune do, Muay Thai , Silat
and Kuntao and the arts of Guro Dan Inosanto. After studying at CFA, he continued his study at Integrated
Fighting Arts
of Fayetteville, AR under Sifu Richard Clary. This school was unique
in many ways. It was here that Mr. McLeod first realized that training
only in one martial arts system isn't effective for self defense in a
real situation. Mr. Clary teaches an
Integrated Fighting System based on Kuai Shou Pai Gung Fu, (fast hand
system), Shinjitsu Kempo, Kali, JKD, and Silat and is one of the most innovative and highly skilled martial artists
in America. In 1995, Marc McFann, (a world famous instructor under Dan Inosanto), moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas and opened
up McFann's Academy
of Martial Arts, where Mr. McLeod also trained in these arts and was first introduced to JKD grappling and
groundfighting.
Since
moving to China in 2003, we have been lucky enough to find training
partners and high level practitioners of these arts from all over the
world to train with and continue the journey.
Mr. McLeod has over 25 years of martial
arts experience.
